This role focuses on dimensional modeling, query performance, and enabling self-service analytics for engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain OLAP data models and dashboards (Loki / Tempo / Mimir) schemas, cubes, semantic layers)Optimize analytical queries for low latency and high concurrencyPartner with ETL and data ingestion teams to ensure analytics-ready datasetsBuild and maintain materialized views, aggregates, and rollupsSupport BI, observability, and AI teams with performant analytical datasetsImplement data quality checks and consistency validationTune databases for cost, performance, and scalabilityContribute to analytics standards, naming conventions, and documentationQualificationsRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience in analytical data engineering or BI platformsStrong experience with OLAP databases or analytical engines (e.g., Mimir, ClickHouse, BigQuery, TimeScale)Deep understanding of dimensional data modelingStrong SQL skills and query optimization expertiseExperience supporting dashboards, reporting, or analytics workloadsExperience working within an Agile or SAFE Agile work modelPreferred QualificationsExperience with time-series or observability dataFamiliarity with data visualization tools (Grafana, Tableau, Power BI)Exposure to AI/ML feature stores or analytics for AI pipelinesExperience in cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)At Optimum, we're fueled by our four core pillars: Taking Ownership, Upholding Transparency, Creating Community, and Demonstrating Expertise. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $100,246.00 - $143,208.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
