Location: Oak Ridge, TNJob Title: Information Security AdvisorCareer Level From: AdvisorCareer Level ToJob Specialty: Information SecurityWhat You'll DoThe Information Security Advisor provides an advanced level of specialized knowledge of NNSA/ Department of Energy requirements concerning Classified Matter Protection and Control as well as advanced knowledge in a wide range of business principles, competencies, and application of techniques related to Information Security. This position requires an ability to implement and manage Federal Regulations, statutes, and DOE orders pertaining to the identification and protection of classified information at the CNS Y-12 National Security Complex (NSC). The Information Security Advisor is expected to make cognizant decisions on information that is being identified and protected in accordance with published guidance, DOE Orders and Federal Regulations.The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to handle issues and concerns directly related to key management systems at the plant level, and capable of assisting in the development of long-term strategies for information security decisions at the CNS Y-12 NSC.Independently performs interpretive security activities in support of facility's efforts to protect and control classified matter. This position is also responsible for maintaining and updating departmental and division procedures, corrective action planning and tracking, assessments, writing security plans and deviation requests, and developing, updating, and conducting training. Provides CMPC programmatic guidance to the Y-12 National Security Complex. Ensures organizations handling or maintaining classified matter adhere to the Y-12 CMPC Program requirements. Interfaces with all Divisions of CNS Y-12, federal oversight counterparts and management, as needed, within the scope of work. Exercises strong independent judgment and exhibits a clear understanding of the impacts of the CMPC program on National Security.This position requires a self-starter capable of exerting broad knowledge and considerable latitude in determining information protection objectives, overall program oversight, and have a proven ability to complete work assignments through consultation and agreement with others, rather than by formal review of supervision. The candidate will also be required to assist in Information Security issues management to include developing, tracking and closing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) that may result in changes to classified policies and procedures.The candidate must possess s strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels while serving as a spokesperson for the CNS Y-12 Information Security Office.
