Safety Coordinator / Specialist

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting, developing, and implementing workplace health and safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and productive environment. This role monitors operational practices, conducts inspections and training, and partners with management and employees to maintain a strong safety culture. Responsibilities: Assist in planning, developing, and implementing safety policies, procedures, and programs. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local/state requirements, and company standards. Maintain accurate and organized safety records, logs, and documentation. Conduct safety training sessions, including new-hire safety orientation and weekly safety meetings. Ensure employees are completing required safety trainings and track training certifications. Perform safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and operations. Promote safe work practices and contribute to safety awareness campaigns. Maintain the company's chemical inventory and ensure accurate tracking of all hazardous materials. Ensure all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are current, accessible, and compliant with OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom). Assist with chemical approvals, storage evaluations, and labeling requirements. Qualifications: 2-5 years of experience in occupational safety, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, or other industrial environment. Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices. Strong organizational and report-writing skills. Comfortable working in a variety of environments (e.g., warehouse, office, manufacturing). Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel). Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented demeanor. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
