Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Job Description:The Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer is responsible for managing client projects and performing technical calculations to prepare I&C deliverables including:Collection and presentation of key data/informationInstrument technical specifications and ISA data sheetsInstrument installation detailsInstrument location plansControl wiring and loop diagramsP&IDs in regard to instrument and control philosophyI/O requirements for DCS and PLC systemsReview of vendor drawing submittalsTechnical calculations (e.g. control valve sizing)Technical evaluation of bidsAssistance in field workSupport of construction and startup/commissioning activitiesThe Senior I&C Engineer is responsible for assuring quality and timely completion of engineering designs and reports. The Senior I&C Engineer should be comfortable in interfacing with the clients, visiting clients’ facilities and performing physical work such as walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs/ladders.Qualifications:5+Years of Engineering ExperienceExperience in refinery or a continuous process chemical plant is a plusP&ID understandingWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office productsFamiliarity with typical I&C drawings (Loops, Cabinet Layout/Wiring etc.)Working knowledge of process field instrumentationProject lead experience developing engineering schedules, budgets and forecastsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in teams and to present a positive image to clientsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and 3-D CAD a plusEngineering design tools and calculationsKnowledge of Industry Standards (ISA, PSM, etc.)Education/Certification Requirements:BS Degree in Chemical or Electrical EngineeringAdvanced degree, and/or P.E. certification a plusActive participation in professional organizations a plusPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position is available hybrid or onsite.
