As an Industrial Automation Technician, you will play a key role in helping customers modernize and optimize their control system infrastructure. Working across multiple industries and facilities, you'll assess, design, and implement cutting-edge automation solutions that enhance manufacturing reliability and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders, provide expert consultation, and drive innovation in industrial automation.Reports to: AIMM Business Development ManagerMinimum Qualifications:+ Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Manufacturing (or equivalent experience).+ 3+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role.+ Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motion control, and industrial networks.+ Experience creating detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for automation solutions.ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:+ Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.+ Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Preferred Qualifications:+ Experience with Rockwell Automation control system solutions.Working Conditions:+ Operate in a professional office environment, with extended periods of sitting.+ Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.+ Visit industrial customer locations, including manufacturing facilities, water treatment plants, and theme parks.+ Site visits may involve physical activity, including climbing and standing for extended periods, and exposure to varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat or cold.+ Travel is required throughout the Southern California region to attend meetings, support customer needs, and perform project work.+ Travel may require overnight stays during the work week during multi-day project execution.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoEssential Job Functions:+ Conduct hands-on control system assessments and design modern automation solutions.+ Implement documented automation service offerings at client sites, ensuring efficiency and safety.+ Develop and present technical recommendations to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.+ Provide on-site and virtual technical training to equip customers for long-term success.+ Contribute to the development of new automation services based on client needs and industry trends.+ Build strong relationships with operations and plant controls teams to support their automation goals.CED is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability | VeteranCompensation Range:The compensation range for this position is $40 to $50 hourly.Benefits:Benefits available for this position are:+ Insurance - Medical, Dental, Vision Care for full-time positions+ Disability Insurance+ Life Insurance+ 401(k)+ Paid Sick Leave+ Paid Holidays+ Paid Vacation+ Health Savings Account (HSA) and matching+ Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)+ Teledoc+ Paid Pregnancy & New Parent Leave
