Job Summary As a medical equipment service technician for Summit DME, you will serve as one of the primary employees responsible for delivering and picking up medical equipment to and from our patients. When delivering, its essential to make sure all equipment is set up and connected in what we call “Ready to Go” order. Along with delivering and setting up, we also take time to educate those in the home or facility on the items we are dropping off. You will be trained in all equipment and will be expected to utilize that knowledge in the field when interacting with customers. Job Responsibilities Always maintain professionalism and exemplify the highest levels of customer service when interacting with patients, families, caregivers, and other clients. Assist the warehouse department with loading and unloading your assigned company vehicle for the day. Participate in regular training for how to deliver, diagnose, and educate patients, families, and caregivers on the durable medical equipment we offer. Calls each service location to notify of ETA’s and communicates status to dispatch. Make deliveries of medical equipment while taking time to fully set up, instruct, and educate those at each location on all items being delivered. Pick up medical equipment from service locations when they are no longer needed. Assess, diagnose, and service malfunctioning equipment in the field when needed. Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle while taking extra care to secure all medical equipment with the goal to prevent damage during transit. Assist in light equipment maintenance and cleaning. Participate in company on-call (after hours response) program Follows all company policies, procedures, dress code and management direction, including all fleet and safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor Qualifications Must be 21 years of age. Valid drivers license. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
