Trading Assistant - Settlements
Top-tier Distressed Fund in NYC is looking to fill an experienced role overseeing trade settlements across all their funds/strategies. This person will get great exposure on a fairly lean team.Job FunctionsCommunicating, confirming, settling/funding and reconciling derivative trades (CDS, IRS, Futures, OTC) and support responsibilities utilizing Markitwire, MTM, DTCC and FCM applicationsCommunicating, confirming, settling/funding and reconciling securities trades and allocations; working with traders, counterparties, clearing brokers, and clearing housesPrimarily support long/short investments in multi-currency fixed income securities in global high yield, structured products and emerging markets settling at DTC, Euroclear and local countriesHands on w/ Prime Broker/Custodian Web Sites, Omgeo Alert, CTM & Oasys to manage the confirmation, allocation and trade flowReporting failed tradesResolving trade issuesReconciling trade flow between CRD and VPMSetting up new accounts and brokers on the confirmation, clearing and trade communication systemsMatching and confirming tradesInitiating wires for settlementReconciling cash and positions post settlementExtracting data/enhancing reports using data warehouseWorking with IT and management on application enhancements and new application implementationCross-train and backup all derivative (CDS, IRS, Futures, OTC) support responsibilities utilizing Markitwire, MTM, DTCC and FCM applicationsJob Requirements4-8 years of Buy side experience.Strong Excel skills and high aptitude to learn new applications.Good understanding of trade matching, confirmation and clearance process.Knowledge of Charles River OMS (CRD) and VPM Accounting System a plus.Bachelor's Degree in either Finance or Accounting.Disclosure: The hourly rates and/or salaries listed may or may not reflect total compensation packages including bonus and fringe benefits, etc., nor are the advertisement(s) posted a guarantee of a certain compensation package for a position or bona fide offer of employment.
