We're hands-on, we take pride in doing the work right, and we're looking for people who want to build something real and local and grow with us for the long term.About the RoleWe are looking to add a Field Technician (Installer) to our growing field operations team. This role is focused on delivering great installation experiences to our residential and business fiber customers. From the moment you pull up to the house to the moment service is activated, you represent E-vergent.Our installs consistently earn 5-star reviews, and that is not by accident. Our installers take the time to do the job right, keep things clean, explain the setup to the customer, and leave the home better than they found it. If that sounds like your style, we want to hear from you.You'll work closely with the Director of Field Operations, dispatch, and our NOC team to complete installs, verify service activation, and resolve issues on the first visit whenever possible.What You'll DoPerform fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations for residential and business customers, including ONT placement, drop routing, and interior cablingConduct fiber tests (light-level checks, continuity) to confirm successful activationConfigure customer equipment (ONT, router, Wi-Fi) and verify service performance before leaving the siteWalk customers through their setup, answer questions, and ensure they're happy before you leaveKeep the jobsite clean and professional, and treat every customer's home with careDocument installs thoroughly in our internal systems, including photos, notes, and equipment usedTroubleshoot basic service issues and escalate complex problems to senior techs or the NOCOccasionally assist with fixed wireless installs, service calls, or other field work as neededOperate and maintain company vehicles, tools, PPE, and test equipment in safe working conditionParticipate in an on-call rotation for after-hours outages or emergency repairsComply with OSHA safety standards, Company safety policies, and all applicable lawsWho You AreCustomer-focused: you understand that the installer is the face of the company, and you take that seriouslyHands-on and handy: comfortable with tools, cables, drills, and working in attics, basements, and crawlspacesDetail-oriented: you care about the finished product looking clean, not just workingReliable and accountable: you show up on time, communicate clearly, and follow throughComfortable working independently, managing your own schedule and tickets throughout the dayWhat You'll BringRequired:Valid driver's license and clean driving recordHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and work in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces, basements)Ability to work outdoors year-round in varied weatherStrong customer service skills and professional communicationAuthorization to work in the United StatesPreferred:Prior experience performing fiber or cable installs (FTTH, coax, fixed wireless, or similar)Familiarity with ONTs, routers, Wi-Fi configuration, and basic home networkingExperience with fiber testing equipment (OTDR, power meters, light sources)Familiarity with Telecom billing systems and GIS softwareLow-voltage, electrical, or telecom backgroundOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationBenefitsHourly Pay Starting at $25.00/ hour depending on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid life and disability coverage401(k) with employer matchPaid time off and paid holidaysCompany vehicle, equipment, and PPE providedWhy Join UsPride in the work: our installs consistently earn 5-star reviews, and we invest in doing it rightGrowth: E-vergent is scaling fast, with real paths into senior tech, lead, and specialty rolesTraining: we'll invest in your development, from fiber fundamentals to advanced troubleshootingStability: E-vergent is a company where strong performers are rewarded with increasing compensation and improving benefits over timeTeam: small, skilled, field-first.
