Facility Services AssistantThis position is located in the Maintenance and Operations Section of Facilities Management and functions as a Facilities Program Assistant. The incumbent is responsible for management of the Work Order System and Facilities Maintenance tool system. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Working with Maintenance Supervisor to schedule repairs and minor improvements within the Medical Center based upon priorities established by the Facilities Manager. Managing Work Order System so that work orders are entered and closed out promptly and work requestors are informed of work status. Following up on incomplete and completed work orders with Medical Center staff to review details of pending work orders and review any problems which may occur. Interpreting established policies and guidelines and working with the Maintenance Supervisor to determine priority of work orders. Performing general office, clerical, and technical support including abstracting information from records for reports, maintaining statistical data, receiving calls, relaying messages and filing correspondence and technical information. Managing Facilities Maintenance Tool System to include maintaining an accurate tool inventory, managing the repair and maintenance information on all tools, keeping tools in proper order for ease in distribution, and submitting 2237's using GSA and DLA catalogs, government contracts, etc. Completing financial training and obtaining a Government credit card for departmental purchasing of goods and services in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations. Quality Ranking Factor: Computer programming experience and data analytics. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-04) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above high school. Degree must be relevant to the position to be filled. Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Physical Requirements: Working environment is both in the FMS office and the field. The employee must be able to reach all places throughout the hospital complex and it is necessary to view the facility and gain sufficient information for perpetration of plans and estimates. Walking, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders are involved in the job.
