Interested applicants must apply online by visiting the Denver Public Schools job board at careers.dpsk12.org . **About This JobThe Hourly Summer Program Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides observation, coaching, modeling and training, on a referral basis, to school teams who request support with individual students who exhibit behaviors that interfere with their learning or the learning of others. Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary Behavior Team and partner with building-based school social workers and school psychologists, special educators, school administrators, paraprofessionals and other central office staff in the development and implementation of data-driven, evidence-based positive behavior interventions and supports. The goal of these supports is to develop adults’ prevention, intervention and reinforcement skills to promote students’ positive behaviors. Works under the guidance of someone who is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.** This is a temporary hourly summer position only. What You'll DoIn collaboration with district Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), school social workers/psychologists, Behavior Intervention Specialists, and other special educators and school administrators, supports and coaches building staff in evaluating, implementing, and monitoring specially designed instruction based on evidence-based behavioral interventions and accommodationsDelivers direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to support students with disabilities requiring ABA as part of their IEP or 504 planImplements district-based data collection systemsAttends relevant in-service training and required meetingsCollaborates with team members to develop and deliver monthly training sessions for school staff and special education team membersMay also conduct direct Applied Behavior Analysis assessments for students with IEPs or 504 plansSupport building staff to:Implement specially designed instruction to improve outcomes for students with challenging behaviorProvide positive behavior supportsSupport school staff in their implementation of behavior intervention plans and provide behavioral supports to studentsCoach SE&O paraprofessional staff serving students with behavioral challengesModel and coach for school staff the use of:Positive multi-tiered systems of supportsReplacement strategies/re-direction when implementing positive behavior supports and supporting studentsConsult with the school’s problem-solving process to improve outcomes for students with behavioral challengesAttend appropriate in-services training and required meetingsPerform other duties as assignedWhat You’ll NeedMinimum of a High School Diploma/GED in Education, Behavior (ABA), Special Education, Child Development, Psychology or related field, or 1 – 3 years of related experienceBachelor's Degree is preferredRegistered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification in the State of Colorado is required1+ years of related experience is requiredBilingual in Spanish is preferred.The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performanceEffective communication skillsEffectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlinesStrong attention to detailHigh degree of integrity in handling confidential informationAbility to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and studentsWork collaboratively with others on a teamAptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment is preferredProficiency in oral and written communication skills is preferredComputer proficiency is preferredEffective skills in time and people management is preferredEffective skills in conflict resolution is preferredUnderstanding of, and sensitivity to, various cultures and issues is preferredRespect of confidentiality and integrity to students as a district official is preferredAbility to be flexible with schedule and workdayAbility to travel among school locations.A valid Colorado driver’s license and car with appropriate insurance.Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
