This certification demonstrates our commitment to transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet.Salary Range for this position is $73-83kSenior AccountantThe Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role works closely with the accounting team and cross-functional partners to maintain compliance with GAAP, improve processes, and support audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Key responsibilitiesPerform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations (manage the account reconciliation process)Analyze financial data and investigate variances against budget and prior periodsAssist in month-end and year-end activities to ensure timely and accurate reportingPrepare and review monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAPMaintain strong documentation standards for journal entries and account reconciliationsDevelop an understanding of the business and forge strong relationships with the manufacturing sites and other departmentsEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirementsSupport internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiriesResponsible for the fixed asset monthly processPartner with FP&A and accounting resources to ensure budget details are loaded properlyOwnership of payroll and benefit accounting entries as requiredResponsible for all grant accounting inclusive of accounting, tracking and reconciliationOversee and ensure the accuracy of expense reporting module - CertifyManage the lease accounting setup, monthly accounting, reconciliation and complianceProvide strategic oversight and governance for all R&D tax credit activities across the organizationLead a monthly Capital Committee meeting and collaborate with project managersAssist with special projects, and policy updates as neededDrive process improvements to streamline the flow of information within the department and across the company's sitesKey accounting resource supporting the conversion and implementation of a new ERP systemProvide guidance and review the work of accountantsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation Level – Required/Preferred – BS Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA a plusWork Experience – 5+ years of progressive experiencePractical/Technical KnowledgeStrong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindsetOrganized, strong work ethic and detail-orientedPassionate with an ability to identify opportunities to streamline processesStrong knowledge of Microsoft suiteDesire to learn the fundamentals of the industry and take on new challengesAbility to work independently and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced environmentSupervisory experience a plus but not requiredJD Edwards, SAGE and systems conversion experience a plusAgri-Mark is an equal opportunity employer.
