Packaging Engineer – MechanicalLocation: Covington, TennesseeJob Type: ContractExperience: 5+ yearsQualification: B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldJob OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Packaging Engineer with strong hands-on experience in packaging machinery, packaging equipment, and production line systems. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting packaging operations, equipment integration, line layouts, changeovers, and process optimization, preferably within the Food & Beverage, Ice Cream, or other hygienic manufacturing industries.Key Responsibilities• Evaluate the suitability, performance, and integration of packaging equipment from filling systems through secondary packaging.• Support End-of-Line (EOL) systems, including palletizing and material-handling operations.• Coordinate with packaging equipment vendors, suppliers, and engineering teams.• Develop and finalize technical specifications for equipment modifications, upgrades, and packaging/product changeovers.• Provide engineering support for packaging process improvements, optimization, and equipment performance.• Develop and modify packaging line layouts using AutoCAD.• Review equipment placement, layout impacts, utility requirements, and integration of new equipment into existing production lines.• Coordinate and integrate 3D models within the overall plant design environment.• Lead 3D model coordination activities and collaborate with offshore engineering/modeling teams when required.• Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of packaging equipment and production lines.Required Skills• Mechanical Engineering background with 5+ years of relevant experience.• Strong experience with packaging machinery and packaging systems.• Experience with packaging equipment, filling systems, secondary packaging, and End-of-Line systems.• Experience with palletizing operations and packaging/product changeovers.• Experience in packaging process improvement and equipment optimization.• Strong AutoCAD skills with experience developing and modifying packaging line layouts.• Experience coordinating equipment vendors and engineering teams.• Understanding of equipment integration, plant layouts, utilities, and production-line modifications.• Experience working with 3D models and plant design environments.Preferred Industry Experience• Food & Beverage manufacturing• Ice Cream manufacturing• Hygienic / clean-process industries• High-volume manufacturing or automated production environmentsEducation• B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a Mechanical Engineer with strong packaging machinery and production-line experience who can evaluate equipment, coordinate vendors, develop AutoCAD layouts, support EOL/palletizing systems, and lead the integration of new packaging equipment into existing manufacturing facilities.📩 Interested?Apply now or share your profile via LinkedIn message.📧 You may also send your resume to vighneshwar.gouda@prolim.com
