Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Loan Originator Assistant-Unlicensed. The right candidate will support the Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) so that the MLO can focus on producing more volume and provide a higher level of customer service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Communicate with parties to the transaction to update them on loan statusTrack outstanding applications and loan documents and call customers to follow up on those documentsSchedule appointments for the MLOAssist the MLO in converting prequalification to applications in the LOS. This is strictly handling the administrative side of setting up the electronic loan package. The MLO should select product, loan terms, etc. and it should be in the MLO’s name in the LOSAssist MLO in preparing loan application documentation to submit to processingAssist MLO in returning phone calls when appropriate. Only basic status updates or requests for information may be made. LOA-Unlicensed is prohibited from communicating or negotiating loan terms, rates, etc. to a consumerMonitor pipeline reports daily for status of applications and communicate with processors weekly/daily to make sure all loans are moving through the approval processOccasionally provide initial “set up” of the file. i.e., order appraisal, title, verifications etc.Maintains current knowledge of company and investor guidelines as well as state and federal regulationsConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to work overtimeAbility to travel overnightQualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Six months to one-year related experience and/or trainingStrong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAbility to manage multiple priorities; strong detail orientation and highly organizedStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
