Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift role requiring intermediate care experience and a ME or compact RN license.Job Details• Position is in the Intermediate Care Unit (PCU) at a Level II Trauma Center,• Patient population includes trauma, neuro (strokes, stable craniotomies), respiratory illness, post-op surgical, sepsis, IVDA, cardiac (STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, AFIB, s/p Cardiac Cath, s/p Ablation, post-TAVR),• Typical RN-to-patient ratio is 1:3-4 on both days and nights,• Unit contains 12 beds with support from CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, ICU-trained resource nurses, RT, and hospitalists,• Uses Cerner for charting (experience highly preferred), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors,• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week, every other weekend required,• May float to ED, ICU, or CCU depending on intermediate needs,Job Requirements• Active ME or compact RN license required,• Minimum one year of current PCU/intermediate care experience, or two years if primary experience is Med/Surg with some PCU exposure,• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; AACCN/CCRN preferred,• Direct experience managing trauma and stroke patients, including regular neuro checks,• Proficiency with cardiac rhythm interpretation, high flow O2, chest tubes, wound vacs, Bipap, trach/vent management, IV starts, and cardiac/insulin drips,• Experience with temporary pacemakers, TR bands, femoral sheath care, and post-cardiac procedures,• Cerner EMR experience highly preferred,• Must have completed at least two prior 13-week travel assignments; first-time travelers not eligible,• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent capacity at any Northern Light Health Hospital,• Flu vaccination required for assignments with a start date after 9/30/2024, with medical exemptions considered,Additional Information• Role involves caring for complex intermediate-level trauma, neuro, respiratory, surgical, and cardiac patients,• Expect to perform Q2H neuro checks, manage drips, and provide advanced respiratory and cardiac support,• Extensive multidisciplinary support including ICU-trained resources, PT/OT, and in-unit RT is available,• Orientation includes general hospital onboarding and one day on the assigned unit,• Professional scrubs of any color are required,• Holiday coverage is based on unit needs,• Low census call back may occur as needed,• Parking is free in designated areas,
