Project Engineer

What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: The Field Engineer will serve as the primary on-site liaison between the construction team and engineering. The individual must be capable of independently managing the flow of technical information between disciplines, tracking drawing status, and ensuring that field questions are resolved in a timely manner. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.Primary Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited ToServe as the day-to-day point of contact between field construction crews and the engineering team.Review and interpret construction drawings, including the ability to distinguish between Issued for Construction (IFC) documents and earlier revision stages.Track and manage drawings that are being issued during active execution, ensuring the field is always working from the correct and most current revision.Initiate, track, and prioritize Requests for Information (RFIs), identifying which are critical-path items and escalating accordingly.Communicate drawing and RFI status clearly to both field supervision and engineering staff.Support general construction coordination activities as needed on site.Ideal BackgroundEducation: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.Registration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.Required Knowledge Skills, And AbilitiesStrong working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and document control processes.Demonstrated experience managing RFIs from initiation through resolution, including the ability to assess criticality and prioritize accordingly.Familiarity with fast-track or design-build execution environments where drawings are issued in phases during construction.Effective communicator who can serve as a reliable bridge between engineering and field teams.Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision on site.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.Hargrove CultureWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
