Senior Java Backend / Full-Stack EngineerLocation: Roanoke, VA Job Type: ContractWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend / Full-Stack Engineer to develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, databases, APIs, and cloud technologies.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop Java/Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs.Build scalable and reliable backend applications.Design, optimize, and manage databases and SQL queries.Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS.Implement unit and integration testing and participate in code reviews.Work with Kafka/RabbitMQ and event-driven architectures.Collaborate with engineering teams on system design and integrations.Contribute to CI/CD, automation, and Agile development practices.Required Skills8+ years of software development experience.Strong Java and Spring Boot expertise.Hands-on experience with microservices and REST APIs.Strong SQL and database design knowledge.Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL.AWS cloud experience.Experience with testing and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.Preferred SkillsTerraform/IaCPython scripting and automationAngular/TypeScriptMiddleware/integration platforms
