Chief Operations Officer
The COO will lead and integrate operational functions across North America, ensuring execution excellence in a complex, engineered solutions environment. This role is accountable for driving project performance, operational discipline, and organizational capability while delivering strong customer and financial outcomes. Success means ensuring the organization is developed in a way that allows positive project results to be consistently achieved and shows a clear responsibility structure (locally and group wide). Project timeline, project financial results and customer satisfaction (quality) are the key measures of project success. By assuring compliance to internal group-wide processes and standards, the COO ensures that the organization meets high class project standards. The staff is proactively built up in accordance with the local and global needs and developed in terms of skills, experience and leadership. What you'll be handlingResponsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass calculated project margins, cash flow, business goals and objectives, timelines and the agreed technical parametersCollaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the organizationCollaborate with the sales team to support offer, design and contract reviews and to develop and execute a clear handover process between the departmentsProvide a diligent risk and opportunity assessment for each project (before contract signature and during project execution) based on maturity-level of the (realization) team, the offered solution and the acceptance criteria (technical and commercial).Motivate and lead a high-performance operations team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team not currently in place, provide mentoring and coaching as a cornerstone to the management career development programResponsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and relevant reports on the operating condition of the companyActively liaise with Group Senior Vice President Realization and all other Global Realization Roles and COOs to further improve current group-wide processes and standards What you'll needSenior operations leadership experience in automation, engineered systems, or complex B2B project environments5+ years' experience in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning in the project business8+ years' experience in complex and large scale project realization dealing with mechanical and electrical engineering plus software implementationCan effectively work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while driving toward clarity and solutions: demonstrating resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systemsExperience in matrixed, global organizations; transformation experience preferredExpertise in operational excellence, KPI management, and execution governanceProven success leading multi-disciplinary teams across project delivery, installation, and service What you'll receive TGW offers full medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K with company match, tuition reimbursement, competitive pay with PTO package offerings, along with safety shoe, protective eyewear, and fitness reimbursement.
