With a nationwide footprint and opportunities for growth across multiple locations and disciplines, SPL is a place where you can build a career while making a real-world impact.We’re searching for a motivated, detail-oriented Field Services Technician II to join our environmental team in Conroe, TX.In this role, you’ll perform regulated environmental sampling, water and wastewater sample collection, environmental monitoring, field inspections, and specialized field operations, including independent execution of environmental sampling programs and operation of automated composite sampling equipment. This position also plays an important role in supporting environmental laboratory operations and requires flexibility to assist with laboratory workflows, sample receiving, sample preparation, and operational support as business needs require.This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in environmental science, environmental services, wastewater operations, water treatment, utilities, industrial services, laboratory support, environmental compliance, field sampling, or technical field operations who enjoy hands-on outdoor work, operational variety, and cross-functional responsibilities.What You'll DoPerform environmental sampling in accordance with approved EPA methods, state regulations, and company proceduresCollect water, wastewater, groundwater, and environmental samples from municipal, industrial, and commercial client sitesTravel to and from client sites to pick up and deliver environmental samples following assigned routes and schedulesMaintain proper sample custody, integrity, preservation, and regulatory holding times during transportDeploy, retrieve, program, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain composite sampling equipmentVerify composite sampler operation and document maintenance activities, corrective actions, and field observationsConduct field inspections at water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, well sites, distribution systems, industrial locations, and storage facilitiesPerform required field measurements, environmental monitoring activities, observations, and documentationIndependently identify and resolve routine sampling, monitoring, or equipment issues; escalate non-routine concerns as neededComplete chain-of-custody records, field logs, electronic documentation, and compliance paperwork accuratelyPerform in-house sample triage, including verification of containers, preservation, labeling, and documentationPrepare, stage, clean, and replenish sample kits, coolers, preservatives, and field suppliesInteract professionally and courteously with municipal, industrial, and commercial clients during field activitiesPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsWhat We’re Looking ForHigh School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational training in a related technical field preferredDemonstrated hands-on experience in field services, regulated sampling, or related technical rolesFamiliarity with field sampling techniques and equipment operation, including composite and/or automated samplers, strongly preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applicationsValid driver’s license with acceptable driving recordWhat We OfferCompetitive compensationMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurancePaid time off, sick leave, and paid holidaysPaid parental leaveEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition reimbursement and professional development supportSchedule, Travel, & Work EnvironmentFull-time, field-based positionFlexibility to work overtime, including evenings or weekends as neededAbility to work outdoors and operate company vehicle for extended periods of time in varying weather and terrain conditionsOur Commitment to Diversity & InclusionAt SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
