High School English Plan, organize and implement the high school English program in a Catholic learning environment. Guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. We believe in:Commitment to excellence in all that we do and achieve, in the way that we act, and in the way that we lead.The blessing of our Catholic faith and identity, and our constant witness to those around us.Innovation that is fueled by continuous learning that, in turn, leads to continuous improvement.Collaboration with the community around us that is based on mutual respect and mutual benefit.Responsible stewardship of all our resources, including financial, people, facilities and grounds.Duties and Responsibilities:Embrace the mission and vision of St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System and the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay.Teach courses in English 11 (American Literature) and AP Language and CompositionPlan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction to address department standardsPrepare daily lesson plans in all required subjectsPrepare instructional activities allowing for individual differences among the assigned students in an innovative and creative manner; use student data to drive instructionDevelop and use assessment techniques that are appropriate to the expected class and individual objectivesIntegrate instruction across the curriculum whenever possibleSupervises students, fostering and ensuring a disciplined and safe learning environmentEncourage parent and community involvement; obtain information for parents when requestedAssign and grade (as appropriate) class work, homework, tests and assignmentsMaintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and developmentInstruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials, technology and equipmentProvide a secure student centered learning atmosphere, which encourages and challenges student development spiritually, academically, physical, emotionally, and sociallyParticipate and support school and system fundraising events; department, school, diocesan and parent meetings and other professional and co-curricular activities as assigned.Attend retreats, seminars and small group discussions where faith is discussed; lead a personal and professional lifestyle that models a believing, practicing CatholicUnderstands, represents, commits to and implements the mission and philosophy of our school.Fosters collaboration with families, clergy, parish staff, and organizations who entrust their children to our educational programsDemonstrate proficiencies in the use of technology including hardware, software and applications.Cooperate with the principal in fulfilling professional responsibilities throughout the schoolRead and agree to follow the policies and procedures as defined in the Employee HandbookUse resources prudentlyOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities: KnowledgeA minimum of a BA/BS in English or in an appropriate subject area, Master's Degree PreferredKnowledge and implementation of relevant technology and learning methodology.PI18add66f2f51-37483-39956846
