Secretary/Registrar, Berrien Academy Performance Learning CenterClassified/ClericalBerrien County Schools Salary Scale: Yearly salary min $22,272.16 max $24,862.98 based on years of experienceNoTo provide secretarial services to the principal and employees in order to assure the smooth functioning of the school office.PrincipalQualifications/RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, mathematics, and office practices.Ability to work well with the public and others, both in person and over the phone.General computer and office machine proficiency.Physical demands - must be able to stand, sit, and walk the majority of the day. Lift and carry twenty (20) to thirty (30) pounds frequently. Job also requires some bending and stooping.Job DutiesGreet and assist visitors, parents, students, and staff.Answer and direct all incoming phone calls, handling the duties created by such.Perform various clerical duties such as copying, typing, filing, and manage the organization of information, as assigned.Distribute mail.Assist with obtaining substitute teachers.Coordinate and maintain school calendar; coordinate use of building for outside activities.Complete work orders for repairs and general maintenance.Update and maintain emergency call list and other employee information.Prepare and maintain reports and files with accuracy.Answer phones and greet public on a daily basis, handling the duties created by such.Maintain student records, and employee files as needed.Attend approved training sessions, staff development activities and required meetings.Assist School Nurse with special needs of students, i.e. sickness, first aid, absenteeism and emotional needs, as needed.Handle student and staff attendance.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Position works 210 days.Performance is evaluated in accordance with the personnel policy on classified evaluations.Revised 8/11/2022
