Revenue Clerk (Part-Time) Permanent contract Part-time Less than 2 years of experience (Entry level) High school diploma, A levels, GED, GCSE Revenue Protection Mission The Transit Revenue Clerk is responsible for the accurate collection, counting, recording, and reconciliation of transit fare revenues. This position plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial transactions related to fare media, cash, and electronic payments across the transit system. Profile Key Responsibilities: Collect, count and process fare revenues from buses and bus pass vending machines. Operate automated counting and sorting machines for cash and coin. Reconcile daily revenue collections and prepare deposit reports. Maintain accurate records of fare media distribution and returns. Assist in investigating discrepancies and reporting irregularities. Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit procedures. Support inventory management of fare media (e.g., tickets, passes). Collaborate with transit operations and finance teams to resolve issues. Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data and assets. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or business preferred. 1–2 years of experience in cash handling, bookkeeping, or revenue collection. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Ability to operate counting machines and basic office equipment. Familiarity with transit fare systems and procedures is a plus. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
