Manufacturing Manager

Senior Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager / Operations Manager needed to run a steel fabrication plant of 100 people. Experience with structural steel or with fabricating machinery, equipment, or materials handling systems would be a suitable fit. Experience working in an operation that involves welding is a big plus. This job is about 50 miles east of Columbia, SC.Work to maintain a safety-first cultureImprove efficiencies in quality control and on-time shipmentsOversee a production organization that keeps workers safe while maintaining cost control.Make decisions about operating and capital budget (P&L).Lead a team of people in production, supply chain, and facility maintenanceImprove plant profitability, develop quality and safety initiatives.Drive cost reduction through Lean Manufacturing practices and plant layoutREQUIREMENTSExperience in production management for an equipment or machinery company is key.Should have at least seven years' experience.Should be familiar with lean manufacturing and six sigma.Familiarity with Mig welding is a plus, but not required.
