Executive Housekeeper

*EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER* *Basic Purpose* For some, traveling and being away from home is fun; however, many travelers miss being at home. Our Housekeeping Department makes our guests feel at home. The Executive Housekeeper oversees one of the largest staffs in any hotel. Attention to detail, prioritization, task and project management, and, above all, leadership are paramount. Previous similar experience is beneficial. Flexible scheduling for various shifts and holidays required. This position requires continuous standing for 10 hours per shift. *Essential Functions* * Oversee a dedicated housekeeping team to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests and employees, while helping meet and exceed business goals. This position will be required to clean guestrooms at certain need peroids. * Create an environment that’s safe and engaging, where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best, and advance. Lead a diverse team by modeling the way, by empowering, and coaching throughout the employment lifecycle. * Interview, hire, train, schedule and coach employees. * Manage the day-to-day operations of rooms assignments, guestrooms and property inspections, deep cleans, refreshment center, laundry, off premise dry cleaning and guestroom delivery follow-up. * Manage ordering and inventory within monthly budget. * Manage daily payroll functions. * Successfully administer the department’s budget. Ensure financial goals are met through budget oversight. * Protect the brand and asset by ensuring that programs are smoothly implemented and compliant. * Make eye contact and greet guests that you encounter throughout your day with a friendly smile and proper greeting. * Knowledgeable of the company policies (employee handbook). * And, if something goes wrong, you make it right for the guest or employee, and determine how it will not happen again. *Job Skills* *Customer Service* Manages difficult or emotional guest situations; responds promptly to guest needs; solicits guest feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance. *Interpersonal Skills* Maintains confidentiality; listens to others without blaming or interrupting; keeps emotions under control. *Oral Communication* Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions. *Written Communication* Write clearly and informatively. *Judgment* Always use good judgment with respect to making decisions. *Organizational Support * Promotes/Follows hotel policies and procedures. *Professionalism* Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments. *Quality* Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve service and promote quality; offers and receives feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality. *Attendance/Punctuality* Is consistently at work on time and flexible in scheduling themselves. Willing to work a 50 hour work week. *Dependability* Follows instructions, responds to management direction. *Initiative* Volunteers readily; asks for and offers help when needed. *Autonomy / Ownership* Able provide self-direction for identifying and completing tasks, and to work with little supervision. *Qualifications* *Availability* Flexible scheduling for various shifts and holidays is required. *Education and/or Experience* One-year previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper at a similar size luxury brand hotel or resort. Computer efficient, Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency is required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Understands local/national chemical safety standards. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is encouraged. *Physical Demands* This position requires continues movement, regular bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and moving up to 30 pounds. You may also lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. You must be able to stand or walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions. *Reasoning Ability* Ability to apply reasonable sense and understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. *Employment Compensation* Salaried, full-time position, 10 hours per shift/5 shifts per week minumum. Hours are based upon our guests needs. Quarterly bonus potential. Health insurance including dental and eyes (shared costs). Supplemental insurance offered through AFLAC (additional cost). Vacation benefits based upon company policy. Six (6) personal days per year which may not be accrued or carried over. Simple IRA (company match). Monthly cellphone expense.
