CNC Turning Machinist - 2nd Shift (Mazak / Okuma / Fanuc)

At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a key role in machining complex components from forgings and raw materials while maintaining tight tolerances and consistent quality. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate CNC turning centers in a production environment Run multiple machines within a machining cell when feasible Perform job setups, tool changes, and offset adjustments Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and CNC programs Machine aerospace components to tight tolerances (±.001") Load and unload parts manually or using hoists and lifting equipment Apply coolant, monitor tooling, and replace worn or damaged tools Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments Maintain quality standards and ensure parts meet customer specifications Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues Machines, Controls & Software You'll work with equipment such as: Machines: CNC turning centers from Doosan, Mazak, Okuma, and Mori Seiki Controls: Fanuc Inspection Tools: Micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring tools Equipment: Hoists, fixtures, and standard shop tooling Materials You'll Work With Inconel Titanium Stainless Steel Aluminum What We're Looking ForRequired 3 years of CNC turning or machining experience Experience setting up and operating CNC machines Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills Experience working with tight tolerances Ability to use precision measuring tools Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team Preferred (Not Required) Aerospace manufacturing experience Experience running multiple machines within a cell environment Familiarity with Fanuc controls Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose Barnes Aerospace because: Stable aerospace programs with long-term work Modern CNC equipment and structured production environment Competitive pay with 15% shift differential Opportunities to work on precision components and develop skills Strong team environment and engineering support Overtime opportunities available Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay Range: $26 – $38/hr (DOE) Pay Notes: 15% shift differential for 2nd shift Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance starting the 1st of the month following start date 401(k) with 50% match on the first 6% 4% retirement contribution deposited into the 401(k) plan Quarterly incentive opportunities Yearly performance bonus 100% education reimbursement after 1 year PTO: 2 weeks in year one plus 4 floating holidays Flex time program Discounted Care.com membership Discounted Calm app membership Schedule: Monday–Friday 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM Overtime available Apply Interested machinists can apply directly through hireCNC.
