ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. Scope Reporting to the joint venture’s Financial Controller, the Assistant Controller will support the Controller and the accounting manager. Expert in the completion of the month-end close and financial reporting process, this individual will be highly organized with a demonstrated attention to detail and possess experience with computerized accounting systems. Demonstrated experience interacting with vendors, clients, company staff in other departments, representing their Company and the accounting department. Job Description: Accounts Payable: New vendor/subcontractor entry into the accounting system Invoices / payment requests into automated workflow process Proper approvals prior to timely invoice payment List of proposed weekly payments Submission of payment requests, both prescheduled and immediate, as required Act as a point of contact for vendor disputes 1099 reporting at year end Assess and implement opportunities to increase the efficiency of the AP process Review & periodically audit employee expense reports, credit card submissions, etc. Review and critique various payment schedules and documentation Accounting and Financial Reporting Integral in the period-end close process, including analyzing and resolving discrepancies, reconciling subledger balances and resolving discrepancies; maintain documentation Developing and implementing a schedule for period-end accruals and other processes to expedite timely and accurate financial reporting, including work-in-progress accounting Prepare and maintain schedules to support audit and tax compliance initiatives Additional Duties Assist with Preparing sales and use tax filings, government reporting and other statutory obligations Additional duties as assigned Experience/Qualifications: Minimum three years’ experience in general accounting; construction experience a plus Bachelor’s degree in accounting Strong attention to detail with a passion for accurate work; able to professionally hold others accountable to the same level of accuracy; understands deadlines and meets them Hands-on experience with SAP a plus Ability to work well with other team members in multiple departments Ability to represent the company in a professional manner and build relationships when interacting with vendors, clients and others Confidence and ability to work under pressure Ability and eagerness to work with a diverse workforce Benefit Summary: Health Insurance HSA 401K Plan with Company match Life Insurance Disability Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Paid Holidays ASN Constructors and all its affiliate companies are proud to be Equal Opportunity Employers.
