Maintenance Mechanic, 2nd Shift

Work Location: Forest ParkPosition requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.Want to make an impact?The Maintenance Mechanic maintains production and facility equipment in a condition to meet the plant production goals and the building requirements. This position works with mechanical devices such as gears, sprockets, chains, sheaves, belts, brakes, clutches, couplings and coupling alignment, bearings, lubrication, hydraulics and pneumatics. The Maintenance Mechanic should also have basic experience working with and troubleshooting electrical components like 240-480v motors, wiring, switches, sensors, AC and DC circuits. Hours are 4 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.Ways you will make a differenceDisassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers, gears, sprockets chains, knives) using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe and PC.Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operationPerforms routine preventive maintenance procedures as per scheduleInstalls change parts (pockets, flap tuckers, film folding shoulders etc.) on production machinery to run a different size, shape or productReads blueprints, diagrams, programs /ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper equipment operationInstalls new equipmentActively seeks to find problems in assignment area and correct before the problem becomes critical with high supervision.Communicates conditions of equipment by: completing appropriate maintenance records, transferring knowledge of conditions to incoming mechanics at shift change, and informing his supervisor of significant problemsDisplays cooperation by working closely with Production personnelImproves work related skills by actively pursuing outside schooling or plant provided programsPerforms other duties as assignedSkills that will make you successfulExperience must include diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and modifying units to meet proper operating specificationsHands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferredAbility to work with Machine Operators effectivelyGood communication skills in working with maintenance team members and collobrating to improve efficienciesExperiences that will support your success* High school Diploma or GED. 2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance or Mechanical Maintenance, OR related area of study, OR Journeyman Certification preferredWhat We OfferAt Ferrara, we're proud to support our employees by providing comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance, a 401(k), and paid time off (PTO).
