Position Overview
Rangefront Mining Services is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations of the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, implementing financial controls, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial management, compliance, and operational strategy, with a strong ability to lead a team and drive process improvements in a dynamic mining services environment.
This position will be located in office in our Elko, NV facility.
Objectives of the Role
Deliver comprehensive financial updates and analysis to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
Guide financial strategy by aligning company policies with current economic conditions and industry trends.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and operational guidelines.
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely corrective actions.
Maximize payroll and accounting efficiency through process innovation and automation.
Support the development of short-and long-term strategic plans across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain internal safeguards for revenue, costs, budgets, and expenditures across departments and projects.
Establish financial benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards in coordination with the President.
Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting.
Accounting & Compliance
Implement and enforce consistent accounting policies and procedures across all programs and entities.
Ensure compliance with national and local tax regulations, labor laws, and financial reporting standards.
Stay informed of proposed legislation and regulatory changes affecting the mining and staffing industries.
Develop and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure operational integrity.
Monitor workflows and financial transactions to identify inefficiencies and mitigate risks.
Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors and consultants as needed.
Oversee and support the accounting team, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, operations, and executive leadership to align financial goals with business objectives.
Provide mentorship and training to staff on financial systems, compliance, and reporting best practices.
Payroll & Systems Optimization
Manage payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with labor laws.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and payroll processes through technology and automation.
Support CRM and ERP system integration and data accuracy for financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of banking processes, financial data analysis, and GAAP standards.
Proven experience in payroll management, budgeting, and financial project oversight.
Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations, compliance reporting, and audit procedures.
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree a plus).
Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
Experience in the mining, staffing, or industrial services sectors.
Familiarity with QuickBooks, ERP systems, and CRM platforms.
