Sr. Network Implementation Engineer

Overview In this role you will design, implement, and upgrade complex computer networks for the Digital Modernization Sector, ensuring secure, scalable connectivity for critical data flows. You will collaborate with operations and other specialists to translate requirements into robust network designs and documented configurations. You will drive secure engineering practices aligned with DISA STIGs and enterprise policies, while supporting incident response and service transitions. This position offers work with cross-functional teams on high-impact modernization efforts in a defense context. ResponsibilitiesInterpret customer requirements and apply standard design approaches for service deliveryFully document designs with diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, configurations, and supporting documentsSchedule maintenance windows for migrating legacy connections to modern infrastructure with minimal data impactProvide technical expertise to Operations engineers and technicians for fault isolation and resolutionSolve complex problems with innovative, scalable solutionsDevelop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs and enterprise policies; obtain Authority to Operate for new devices and capabilitiesSupervise (not manage) other network support specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network servicesDevelop and improve design products, processes, and systems for team efficiencyAct as escalation point for enterprise-level outage investigations across multiple teams Key requirementsTS/SCI with Poly16 years of experience (combination of work history and education)DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 complianceExperience in network engineering including Tier III+ operations/designProduction network hardware configurations for Cisco, Brocade, and/or JuniperHands-on experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)Hands-on experience with switching/trunking protocols (VLANs, 802.1q, port-channels)initiativediscipline to work unsupervisedproblem-solvingNetwork design and engineeringCAN/LAN design and integrationMPLS WANs
