Pre-Fab Operations ManagerHouston, TX (Some travel required) - Relocation offered if needed I am currently representing a leading electrical contractor that is investing heavily in scaling its prefabrication operations nationally, with Houston serving as a key hub for growth. The organization is experiencing strong expansion and building a best-in-class prefab program to support large, complex projects across multiple markets.This contractor operates across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical sectors, with a strong focus on operational excellence, field execution, and innovation through prefabrication and LEAN processes.They are known for hands-on leadership, a strong field-first culture, and a commitment to building scalable, repeatable systems that drive efficiency and quality. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Pre-Fab Operations Manager to lead their Houston facility while also standing up and supporting remote fabrication sites across their national project footprint.Position OverviewThis is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for the full lifecycle of prefabrication operations, including both hub management and multi-site expansion. The successful candidate will oversee:Full ownership of Houston prefab shop operations (planning, production, staffing, delivery)Implementation of LEAN manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, waste reduction)Development of standardised SOPs, QA/QC processes, and production workflowsSuperintendent-level technical oversight of electrical assemblies and NEC complianceCoordination with project teams, BIM/VDC, and procurement to align prefab scope and schedulesKPI tracking across production, labour efficiency, quality, and delivery performanceSetup and launch of remote prefab facilities (layout, tooling, staffing, material flow)Ongoing auditing, training, and operational alignment across multiple sitesBuilding a scalable, standardised prefab program across all locationsThis position requires a field-oriented operator who can move between strategy and execution - equally comfortable on the shop floor and leading multi-site operational buildouts. Travel is required, particularly during new site launches.Requirements8+ years of electrical construction experience3-5+ years at Superintendent or senior field leadership levelProven experience in prefab/fabrication shop managementStrong background in LEAN manufacturing or LEAN construction methodologiesDemonstrated ability to build and operationalise new facilities from the ground upDeep understanding of NEC, drawings, and complex electrical assembliesExperience developing SOPs, QA/QC programs, and production standardsStrong leadership, organisational, and cross-functional communication skillsWillingness and ability to travel as requiredJourneyman or Master Electrician preferredCompensation & BenefitsBase salary up to $195,000 (flexible depending on experience)Bonus structure up to 50%Full benefits packageLong-term growth within a rapidly scaling organisationOpportunity to play a key role in building a national prefab operationAll inquiries will be handled with strict confidentiality.
