Monitor effective language codes, processing routines, hardware use, and use of database management techniques.Prepare and conduct system and programming tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software. Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.Advanced professional leading medium to large projects or working on complex or high-profile issues that require a broad perspective, conceptual thinking, and in-depth analysis to identify solutions.May also lead a process or function without direct reports. Demonstrate a depth and breadth of expertise within a discipline, and have a deep understanding of the business, financials, products/services, or market. Develop policies and procedures and recommend best practices.Responsible for the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of various system programs, utility programs, job control language, macros, subroutines, and other control modules. Responsible for the integrity of the operating system environment, including maintenance and installation.Advise and provide direction to more junior professionals.What You Will Bring:Master's degree and 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience, or high school degree and 8 years of related experience.Experience in mainframe as a systems programmer who will be supporting the day-to-day functions of an IBM/z environment.Install, modify, test, and debug operating systems and third party system software.Strong understanding of the following: z/OS operating system and system structures, SMPE software installation, JCL, Jes2, TSO, z/OS Security, z/OS networking.Education and Experience Requirements:Master's degree and 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience, or high school degree and 8 years of related experience.Thank you for your interest in SS&C!
