HR Coordinator/Administrator

Our client Food & Paper Supply, an established food and paper distributor located in the south suburbs of Illinois (Alsip), is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented individual with at least two years of hands-on HR experience.This is a full-time, 100% in-office position. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently while leveraging available resources and collaborating effectively with leadership.Position OverviewThe HR Coordinator/Administrator will support all staff and management at our Alsip location, managing a wide range of human resources functions, including:Recruiting and onboarding for both warehouse and office positionsAdministering the new hire process and orientation programs to foster a positive employee experienceProcessing payroll and administering employee health and welfare benefitsActing as a liaison between management and employees, addressing questions, interpreting policies, and resolving workplace issuesAdvising managers on organizational policies, including equal employment opportunity and harassment preventionInvestigating and reporting workplace incidents; coordinating safety initiatives and managing the safety committeeMaintaining personnel records and compiling reports on HR metrics such as hires, terminations, performance evaluations, and absenteeismRepresenting the organization in employee-related hearings and investigationPartnering with an outsourced HR Consultant to deliver high-quality HR servicesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of HR experience (internships considered)Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levelsSpanish language skills strongly preferredExperience working with hourly and/or unionized employees is a plusSolid understanding of employment laws and HR best practicesHighly organized with excellent planning and prioritization skillsResults-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and high work capacitySelf-motivated, enthusiastic, and team-orientedDetail-oriented with a high level of confidentiality and professionalismPHR certification (preferred) or currently in progressWhy Join Us?This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to build a rewarding career in Human Resources within a supportive and growing organization.Please note: This is an in-person role based in Alsip, IL.
