Folk Detroit: Dishwasher – BOH Support (Part-Time)

As a Dishwasher at Folk Detroit, you’ll provide essential support to the BOH team by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation across dish and prep areas. Your work directly enables daily service, seasonal food programming, Folk Bakes, catering, wholesale, and special events.
This role is ideal for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in learning kitchen operations from the ground up. While part-time, this position offers consistent hours, strong team culture, and a clear path for growth within the kitchen.
The Role
The Dishwasher supports BOH operations by ensuring all dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are clean, sanitized, and ready for service. You’ll also assist with basic prep and operational flow, working closely with the Lead Line / Prep Chef and Kitchen Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
Washing and sanitizing dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Maintaining a clean, organized dishroom and prep areas
Supporting prep flow, station setup, and portion consistency
Assisting with prep for daily service, specials, Folk Bakes, catering, wholesale, and events
Managing waste, recycling, and compost according to kitchen systems
Following all health, safety, and sanitation standards
Communicating needs or issues to BOH leadership
This role is critical to the success of the kitchen and the overall guest experience.

Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Willingness to work weekends
Ability to follow sanitation, safety, and BOH procedures consistently
Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $15/hour
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 25 hours/week
Weekend availability required
Hands-on BOH support role with consistent scheduling
