We are recruiting for a Lead Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in our Titusville, Florida office. As a Lead Estimator, you will be responsible for: Assisting the Chief Estimator with leading the Preconstruction team and managing the estimating and bidding processes, including, but not limited to, planning and monitoring the estimating and bidding processes utilizing available resources and taking action when appropriate; active participation in Preconstruction staff meetings, including communication of significant project information and status of pending deadlines; and utilizing lessons learned to improve the effectiveness and management of the estimating and bidding processes. Preparing project estimates and competitively bidding projects, including, but not limited to, identifying the work to be performed; soliciting subcontractors and suppliers; developing and pricing out manual and computer-based estimate take-offs from drawings and specifications; analyzing subcontractors’ and suppliers’ pricing; and contributing toward the development of technical proposals. Performing post-bid activities, including, but not limited to, analyzing estimate results, pricing, and quotations; analyzing the methodology developed and using this information to improve future estimates; finalizing the estimate files and setting up the after-bid files; assisting with preparation of project budgets; and maintaining the estimating and vendor databases. Participating in new project transition to the Operations personnel. Performing project buyout, including, but not limited to, negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers; preparing purchase orders and subcontract agreement scopes of work; and assisting with preparation of project-specific plans and procedures. Assisting with proactively planning and coordinating the efforts of the Preconstruction personnel, including, but not limited to, providing coaching, training, and development of the Preconstruction personnel; and assisting other Preconstruction personnel, as necessary. Requirements: Bachelor of Science in a construction-related or engineering-related field preferred Ten (10) or more years of experience estimating all CSI divisions of similar size ($10MM to $100MM) and type projects Competitively bid (hard bid) experience Leadership skills Strong negotiation skills Experience with writing subcontract agreements and purchase orders Experience with estimating software such as PlanSwift, Timberline, or similar software preferred Ability to successfully manage multiple and competing priorities Proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suites Willingness to collaborate within a team environment Attention to detail, comprehensive, and methodical Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills Excellent performance is rewarded with competitive salaries, a generous incentive compensation program, a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) with match, medical, dental, short-term disability, and life insurance, as well as professional development opportunities.
