Senior Integration Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned Senior Integration Engineer with a strong development background to design, build, and support enterprise-scale integration solutions. This role requires hands-on engineering across APIs, event-driven architectures, and system-to-system integrations in a complex, distributed environment. The ideal candidate is highly technical, comfortable working directly in code, and capable of owning integration solutions end-to-end while collaborating with both technical teams and business stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise integration solutions across diverse systems, platforms, and vendors.Build and support API-driven architectures, including RESTful services and API gateway integrations (e.g., Kong or similar platforms).Develop and maintain event-driven systems using messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar open-source tools.Implement and support system-to-system integrations, ensuring scalability, reliability, and data consistency across platforms.Work hands-on in software development and integration engineering, actively contributing code and technical solutions.Support and enhance enterprise integration platforms (MuleSoft or similar ecosystems) while integrating non-vendor and open-source tooling.Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration, API, and messaging issues across distributed systems.Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.Design reusable integration patterns, services, and frameworks to improve scalability and development efficiency.Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making across integration initiatives.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience as a Senior Integration Engineer or backend/API-focused developerStrong hands-on software development background with a willingness to work deeply in codeExperience building and maintaining API-based integrations and servicesStrong knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar)Experience working with API gateways (e.g., Kong or comparable tools)Familiarity with integration platforms such as MuleSoft or similar enterprise toolingStrong ability to communicate with technical teams and business stakeholdersExperience working in complex, multi-system enterprise environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with EDI integrations, including EDIFACT (European standard)Background in logistics or supply chain integration environmentsExperience in healthcare data integration or interoperability systemsStrong Java development experienceFamiliarity with open-source integration ecosystems and toolingExperience working in high-complexity, enterprise-scale integration landscapes
