Full-Stack Engineer
Job Title: Data Analyst
About The Company:
Kpler is a data and analytics company that helps businesses understand global commodity markets. By combining proprietary data, technology, and market expertise, Kpler provides clients with insights into the movement of commodities and energy around the world. Its platform supports decision-making across areas such as trade, shipping, supply, and demand. Kpler brings together people with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds to solve complex challenges and make market information more accessible and useful.
About The Role:
We are seeking a curious and detail-oriented Data Analyst to help transform complex datasets into clear, reliable, and actionable insights. In this role, you will work with colleagues across product, engineering, commercial, and research teams to explore data, answer business questions, and improve the quality and usefulness of analytical outputs. You will contribute to projects from initial problem definition through analysis, validation, and communication of findings. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with large or imperfect datasets and translating analytical results for both technical and non-technical audiences. You will bring a structured approach to problem-solving, a commitment to data accuracy, and an interest in understanding how market information can support better decisions. This role offers the opportunity to develop your analytical skills while contributing to products and services used by customers operating in dynamic global markets.
Qualifications:
You have a degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative or analytical discipline, such as statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field. You have experience analyzing data in a professional, academic, or project setting and can explain your approach and conclusions clearly. Familiarity with SQL and at least one analytical or programming language, such as Python or R, is desirable. Experience using visualization or business intelligence tools is also an advantage. You are methodical, inquisitive, and attentive to detail. You can organize your work, manage competing priorities, and ask thoughtful questions when requirements or data are unclear. You communicate effectively, collaborate constructively with colleagues, and are open to feedback. An interest in commodities, energy, shipping, financial markets, or global trade is welcome, though a willingness to learn is essential.
Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, structure, and analyze data from relevant internal and external sources. Use appropriate analytical methods to investigate trends, identify anomalies, test assumptions, and respond to business questions. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations that make key findings accessible to stakeholders. Validate data and analytical outputs, document methods and definitions, and flag limitations or quality concerns. Partner with teams across Kpler to understand their objectives and define clear analytical requirements. Present findings in concise written and verbal formats, adapting the level of detail to the audience. Help improve recurring analytical processes, data workflows, and reporting standards. Contribute to the development of scalable solutions, share knowledge with colleagues, and stay informed about relevant analytical techniques and market developments.
Benefits:
Kpler offers the opportunity to work on complex, meaningful challenges in an international and collaborative environment. You will work alongside colleagues with varied expertise and have opportunities to develop your skills through hands-on projects, knowledge sharing, and ongoing feedback. The company supports a culture of ownership, learning, and open communication. Specific compensation, benefits, and working arrangements may vary by role, location, and employment terms and will be discussed during the hiring process.
Equal Opportunity:
Kpler is committed to providing an inclusive and respectful workplace. Employment decisions are based on role-related qualifications, skills, and business needs. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of characteristics protected by applicable law. If you need an accommodation during the application or interview process, please let the recruiting team know so they can discuss appropriate support.
