Business Development Manager (Construction)
We are seeking a Business Development Manager (Construction) to grow our company by sourcing new construction project opportunities—from ground-up building construction to major tenant improvements and renovations. This role will focus on building strong relationships with brokers, property managers, owners, developers, and architects to expand our pipeline and generate qualified leads. The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-driven, and able to align opportunities with our company’s capabilities to drive long-term success. ResponsibilitiesIdentify and pursue new project opportunities, including ground-up construction, tenant improvements, renovations, and other commercial work.Build, strengthen, and leverage relationships with brokers, developers, owners, and architects to generate qualified leads and long-term partnerships.Leverage broker networks to track market activity and secure early access to upcoming projects.Research and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and potential clients to inform business development strategy.Collaborate with preconstruction and project management teams to prepare proposals, bids, and presentations that align with client needs.Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and community activities to raise brand visibility.Maintain a pipeline of active opportunities and provide regular updates on business development activities to company leadership.Support the negotiation of project contracts in coordination with internal teams.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).3–7 years of experience in business development, client relations, or sales within the construction industry.Strong network of relationships with brokers, developers, owners, and design professionals in the local market.Proven ability to generate leads and convert opportunities into awarded projects.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Ability to understand construction processes, project types, and cost drivers.Highly self-motivated, proactive, organized, and goal-driven, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, or other project-tracking software a plus.
