organizations to thrive in today's digital market.ResponsibilitiesServer OS Lifecycle ManagementEngineer, manage, and support standardized server operating system platforms across cloud and on-premises environmentsSupport lifecycle activities including provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance validation, and retirement of server assetsMaintain OS standards for Linux and Windows Server platforms, including configuration baselines, security settings, and operational requirementsCollaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and product owners to ensure server platforms meet business and technical needsImage Management and Golden Image AutomationBuild, maintain, and publish standardized server images using tools such as PackerManage golden image pipelines for public cloud, private cloud, and virtualized environmentsEnsure images meet company standards for security, compliance, performance, monitoring, logging, and operational readinessContinuously improve image creation processes through automation, testing, and pipeline integrationOS Configuration ManagementDesign, implement, and maintain OS configuration management using tools such as Ansible and ChefDevelop and maintain playbooks, cookbooks, roles, recipes, and reusable automation modulesEnforce standardized configurations across server environmentsAutomate remediation of configuration drift where appropriatePartner with security and operations teams to align configuration baselines with hardening and compliance requirementsPatch Management and ComplianceSupport enterprise server patch management processes for Linux and Windows Server platformsAutomate patch deployment, validation, reporting, and exception handling where possibleTrack patch compliance and collaborate with application/product owners to remediate gapsSupport vulnerability remediation efforts related to operating systems, packages, agents, and platform dependenciesMaintain documentation and reporting for patch cycles, standards, and operational proceduresInfrastructure as Code and Automation EnablementDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and related toolingBuild reusable Terraform modules for server provisioning, storage, networking, security, and cloud platform integrationsEnable end-to-end automation of server provisioning, configuration, registration, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle workflowsIntegrate infrastructure automation with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platformsPromote repeatable, auditable, and scalable infrastructure delivery practicesCloud Platform and Landing Zone SupportSupport server platform services within AWS and Azure cloud environmentsAssist with AWS landing zone and Azure landing zone management related to compute, identity, networking, storage, tagging, policy, and governanceSupport automation patterns for cloud-based server provisioning and lifecycle managementCollaborate with cloud architecture, security, and operations teams to maintain secure and compliant cloud infrastructure standardsSMB and Centralized File Share ManagementManage and support centralized file share services, including SMB-based file sharesSupport file share lifecycle management, including provisioning, permissions, access reviews, capacity management, and operational supportWork with stakeholders to ensure file services are secure, resilient, and aligned with business needsSupport cloud-based and hybrid file service solutions where applicableServiceNow, CMDB, and ITSM AutomationSupport automation and integration with ServiceNow for server provisioning, lifecycle management, incident/change processes, and CMDB updatesDevelop or support workflows that improve accuracy and timeliness of CMDB dataAutomate server registration, ownership tracking, environment tagging, and operational metadata updatesPartner with ITSM and platform teams to improve service catalog and request automation capabilitiesCI/CD Pipeline Development and Automation IntegrationBuild and maintain automation pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar toolsIntegrate Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Chef, testing, validation, and deployment workflows into automated pipelinesSupport source control, branching, pull request, and code review practices for infrastructure automationImprove reliability, repeatability, and visibility of platform automation processesDocumentation, Standards, and CollaborationCreate and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and process diagramsParticipate in design reviews, change planning, incident response, and root cause analysisCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability, security, and supportabilityIdentify opportunities to simplify, automate, and modernize server platform operationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related field, or equivalent professional experienceExperience in server platform engineering, infrastructure automation, systems administration, cloud infrastructure, or related technical rolesExperience supporting enterprise infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments preferredExperience managing Linux server platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux, or similar distributionsExperience with Windows Server administration and SMB file share management preferredStrong understanding of server OS lifecycle management, including image management, configuration management, patching, compliance, and operational supportExperience building and managing server images using Packer or similar image automation toolsExperience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and/or ChefExperience with Infrastructure as Code, especially TerraformExperience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar toolingFamiliarity with AWS infrastructure services and cloud platform patternsFamiliarity with Azure infrastructure services and landing zone concepts preferredExperience with ServiceNow, CMDB processes, ITSM workflows, or automation integrations preferredUnderstanding of OS-level permissions, identity integration, access controls, and security hardeningAbility to script and automate using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar languagesStrong Python skills preferredExperience with patch management, vulnerability remediation, compliance reporting, and operational governanceUnderstanding of monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and operational readiness conceptsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to design and document repeatable technical processesStrong this role is $85,000 to $120,000 or the hourly equivalent.
