Java Software Engineer

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently seeking a Java Software Engineer for an opportunity with one of our financial services clients. The person needs to live in the Columbus, OH area. Can not use C2C or agencies for this.The Java Software Engineer will help build and support the consumer payment origination and processing segment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and modern software engineering practices. Experience with enterprise integration, event-driven architectures, Kafka, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines is highly desirable. Additionally, our client is looking for a candidate who has worked on any cloud platform and has developed using pairing as they’ll cross-develop applications with a peer.Duties & Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.Develop scalable and reusable application services that integrate data and functionality across enterprise systems.Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Maven and related DevOps tools.Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.Preferred:Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Spring MVC, J2EE, and Microservices architecture.Experience with Jenkins, Maven, GitHub, and CI/CD pipeline implementation.If you are interested in discussing this position, please send your resume to jtobin@heitmeyerconsulting.comHeitmeyer Consulting is an equal opportunity employer, and we encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
