Job Description:
Are you a wordsmith with a knack for writing content that grabs attention and inspires action? Madison College has an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to join the college's Marketing and Communications team as a Marketing Content Specialist. This role's primary responsibilities include conceptualizing, crafting, and editing impactful content across various digital and print media, creating compelling calls-to-action that motivate users to take desired actions, and maintaining a cohesive and consistent brand voice.
The Marketing Content Specialist plays a key role within the Marketing and Communications team, responsible for writing and developing a wide range of content aimed at generating awareness, driving enrollment, and actively engaging our diverse audiences.
This position produces a wide variety of content, ranging from concise, impactful messages and engaging CTAs for paid marketing caigns to detailed, informative paragraphs that enhance our web and digital presence. The role also includes writing copy for video scripts, email marketing caigns, social media, and other projects as needed.
Additionally, the Marketing Content Specialist will audit existing website and marketing copy to ensure alignment with brand identity and editorial standards. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with team members to support storytelling and brand awareness efforts, promoting the college's image and values.
This is a full-time, 52 weeks per year position, with general working hours Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm and with the ability for hybrid work per college policy. Subject to change per Madison College policy.

Essential Responsibilities:
Conceptualizes, develops, and writes compelling copy for various platforms-including web, digital, print collateral, email marketing, publications, scripts for video, paid advertising caigns-to support marketing and communications goals and college initiatives. Content creation can range from blog posts to persuasive email newsletters to crafting social media captions to clear CTAs for paid advertising caigns.
Ensures all content is aligned with the college's brand voice, effectively communicates key messages, and engages target audiences across different mediums. Works with design and digital marketing teams to create cohesive materials that drive awareness, encourage engagement, and support institutional goals.
Performs content audits and suggests edits for existing copy for promotional materials and web pages to align with brand identity and editorial standards and support SEO strategies.
Collaborates with marketing and communications team members and various stakeholders on establishing voice, tone, and language for all projects. Conducts interviews with stakeholders for background and content needs. Aligns with external communications strategy (public relations and storytelling) ensuring consistency across all collegewide messaging.
Conducts research on client industries, audiences, and trends to inform content strategies and works with clients to understand their messaging goals and audience needs, ensuring that content delivers desired results. Stay up to date on industry trends and apply best practices for content creation across various platforms.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strong command of grammar and punctuation.
Creativity and storytelling abilities and understanding of content marketing strategies and tactics to engage target audiences and drive interest and applications while maintaining brand consistency.
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute content strategies that align with unit goals and objectives by researching and gathering information from various sources to support and execute content creation.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, demonstrating strong project management skills to juggle multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality content on time.
Proficiency in concepting, writing, and editing copy for various platforms, purposes and applications, including caign and advertising assets, social media, and print materials; longer-form copy for email marketing, web pages and storytelling.
Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and embrace feedback for continuous improvement.
Preferred: Knowledge of and experience working with search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing (SMM) and search engine marketing (SEM)
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of professional experience, or an Associate's degree with a minimum of four years of professional experience. (Work experience should be directly related to the skills required for successfully performing this position's duties.)
