Academic Advising Center Assistant (25 Hours)

Advising Center And Academic Center For Excellence Support Provides general office and program support to the Advising Center and the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) at NHTI, Concord's Community College. This position reports to the Vice President of Student Success at NHTI.Accountabilities:Provides the Advising Center and ACE with general administrative support, including creating and managing student reports, creating and managing student appointments, responding to student inquiries, answering the main phone line and department phone lines, assisting with Transfer Fair inquiries and scheduling;Manages documents and reports for the Advising Center, including assigning academic advisors in Banner for new students, weekly Drop Reports, Transfer Fair schedules, Data Reports during registration, including Express Admission Days and Registration Rallies;Maintains current knowledge of Advising Center, ACE and NHTI policies and procedures including the college's academic programs.Responds to phone and email inquiries regarding NHTI programs and courses and refers questions to advisors and other offices on campus, as needed.Provides information to students, faculty, staff, and the public relating to college procedures and policies in a positive and professional manner;Assists with ongoing and special projects in the Advising Center and ACE, as needed;Greets and offers immediate assistance to students who come to the Advising Center and ACE for support services;Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations;Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalentExperience: Two years' of administrative or office support experience.License/Certification: None required.Special Qualifications: Computer proficiency including knowledge and experience with technology platforms such as Outlook, TEAMS, Navigate, Banner (NHTI's student database), and SIS.Recommended Work Traits: Knowledge of modern office equipment and methods of operation. Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to type a variety of correspondence and statistical material and reports with speed and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to maintain fiscal or departmental records. Ability to research records and prepare reports. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
