Job DescriptionThis position is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who provides system engineering support to New and Existing Product Elevator programs. The role plays a crucial support function in ensuring that these programs deliver complete elevator systems that meet customer, functional, code, and safety requirements.Responsibilities+ Evaluate and report the impact of changes, whether from a part or sub-system, to the elevator system envelopes.+ Develop dimensional studies, performance studies, cost-benefit analysis, prototyping, test plans, or code requirement studies of all affected sub-systems.+ Collect elevator requirements from all stakeholders and decompose these into requirements for specific sub-systems.+ Interface with multiple value streams such as supply chain, field operations, marketing, factory support, and others to ensure requirements are met.+ Participate in product support activities, including root cause analysis, priority assessment, DFMEA, DFM, and other engineering tools.+ Implement Engineering Change notices, leveraging experience with the engineering implementation process.Essential Skills+ Strong mechanical engineering background with complex system-level integration experience.+ Experience with Creo and mechanical design.+ Proficiency in 3D modeling and ability to analyze interfaces and interferences.+ Experience in developing performance envelopes (Duty Tables) and generating 2D layouts and studies, such as AutoCAD.+ Strong communication and leadership skills.+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.+ Experience with engineering change implementation processes.+ Proficiency in root cause analysis, DFMEA, and other investigative engineering tools.+ Requirements management with team and stakeholders.+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Design documentation with Mathcad is desirable.+ Previous elevator experience is strongly preferred.Work EnvironmentThis role operates within a manufacturing environment, where you'll be part of a global team that is at the forefront of innovation, safety, and performance in the elevator and escalator industryJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Florence, SC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.67 - $55.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
