Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist IIJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Lab Scientist II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures that are essential for patient care. You will work in a dynamic environment where your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to accurate and timely test results.ResponsibilitiesDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.Assist with processing of specimens when needed.Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory CLIA State requirements.2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.State Medical Technologist license may be required.ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required.Ability to work independently and within a team environment.Proficient with computers.High level of attention to detail.Strong communication and organizational skills.Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.Work EnvironmentYou will work in a laboratory setting that prioritizes safety and proper use of personal protective equipment. Hours: 1st week of training 7a-330p M-F, 2nd and 3rd week 6a-230p Tu-Sat, permanent schedule after training 10p-630am W-Sun .
