Media Center Paraprofessional Location: Lakeshore High School, Lakeshore Public Schools, Stevensville, MIHours: 29.5 hours per weekRequirements / Tasks:Able to effectively work with and relate to high school age students, professional staff, and parentsDependable self-starter and able to work efficiently and multi-task with minimal supervisionBasic computer literacy with interest in learning new skills as needed to provide support with Chromebooks, Google Apps, printers, copiers, etc.Enjoys literature and willing to become familiar with library media center collectionAble to maintain the integrity and confidentiality needed to work in a school settingRegular and predictable attendanceEffectively supervise and direct students utilizing the library media center before school and throughout the day, enforcing both school and library policiesOversee and maintain circulation desk: includes assisting students and staff with locating materials, checking materials in and out, running and distributing overdue/fine notices, adding and deleting patronsProvide reference support to students and staff: includes assisting students with research, assisting with preparation of library media materials for classroom projects upon teacher's request and maintaining materials throughout the project timeline, managing periodicals and newspapers, and photocopying materials for studentsProvide clerical support: includes assisting with scheduling classes in the library media center, sorting and filing mail, assisting with cataloging and weeding materials, processing and repairing materials, shelving materials and reading shelves, assisting with preparation for book talks, promotions, and displays, overseeing annual inventory and preparation of missing materials listProvide Chromebook support: includes troubleshooting Chromebook issues under guidance of Tech Support staff, facilitating repair and new student device needs, and maintaining records of Chromebooks circulated for the day and collecting if not returnedAssist in monitoring Michigan Virtual and Office Tech studentsAssist in maintaining and overseeing the general neatness and attractiveness of of the library media centerFollow established policies/procedures (e.g. medical concerns, safety, student rights, emergency/disaster plan, etc.)All other duties as assigned by the media specialist or administrationQualifications:Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.High School graduate or equivalent.Basic computer literacyCompetent in the following areas: communication skills, organization, and in establishing excellent interpersonal relationships with staff and students.Other:Certified teachers may apply for this positionBeginning Date: May 26, 2026Application Deadline: Applications reviewed upon receiptTo Apply: Complete an online application for Support Staff through RedRover.NON-DISCRIMINATION AND EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
