#11660 Adjunct Cosmetology Teacher

Purpose of the Position: The Adjunct Cosmetology Teacher will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive, state-approved cosmetology curriculum that prepares students for full licensure upon completion of the program. Students will complete required instructional hours and are expected to sit for their state licensing examination at the conclusion of their senior year.Courses AssignedThe selected candidate will teach the following Indiana Department of Education courses:7330 Principles of Barbering and Cosmetology7331 Barbering and Cosmetology Fundamentals7332 Advanced Cosmetology7334 Barbering and Cosmetology CapstoneContract Terms184-day contractAdditional 8-12 Saturdays throughout the school yearSaturday sessions are open to the public to allow students to earn supervised, hands-on instructional hours required for licensure.ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality instruction aligned with state standards and licensing requirementsSupervise and evaluate students during hands-on lab and clinic experiencesMaintain a safe, professional salon learning environmentPrepare students for the state cosmetology licensing examinationTrack and document student instructional hours and competenciesCollaborate with school administration and CTE leadership to ensure program compliance and growthEngage with community partners and promote the cosmetology programQualificationsRequired: Valid Beauty Culture Instructor License (State of Indiana)Experience in cosmetology and/or barbering industryStrong classroom management and organizational skillsAbility to work with high school juniors and seniorsCommitment to student achievement and career readinessProgram HighlightsServes Owen Valley High School juniors and seniorsProvides students with real-world salon experiencePrepares students to complete the required hours and take the state licensing exam upon graduationQualified candidates who are enthusiastic about mentoring the next generation of cosmetology professionals are encouraged to apply.
