Job Title: Software Engineer Job Posting ID: CRNGJP00030093 Location: Corning, NY Shift: 40 hours per week, flexible schedule as needed. Contract duration: 1 year, with potential to extend. Travel: up to 10 to 30% domestic and international, with trips ranging from one day to several weeks. Top 3 Skills C#/.NET software development Distributed systems integration and data handling Source control and build/release workflows What You'll Do Design, develop, test, and maintain software for industrial measurement and machine vision systems, primarily in C#/.NET Support software communication, coordination, configuration, and data handling across distributed measurement applications Support technology transfer from development into manufacturing through build, release, and deployment activities Help evaluate and apply AI assisted and agentic coding tools to improve development workflows Contribute to best practices for incorporating AI development tools into engineering work Create and maintain technical documentation, including software specifications Train engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel on deployed systems Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting of software and integrated measurement systems What We Need From You Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field preferred 3 or more years of experience developing C#/.NET software for production, system integration, or industrial applications (5+ years preferred) Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting software for distributed, multi process, or integrated systems Experience with source control, versioning, and build/release workflows Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable documenting technical work for cross functional teams Preferred / Bonus Experience with WPF user interface development in .NET Experience with motion control systems, cameras, or image acquisition hardware Experience applying machine learning or computer vision methods to inspection or measurement problems Experience with machine vision or image processing libraries such as Halcon, OpenCV, or LabVIEW About Elevait Elevait Solutions was founded by veterans who believe that how you treat people is the only thing that actually matters in this industry.
