ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED AT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COMMUNITY COLLEGES: Asnuntuck, Capital, Housatonic, Manchester, Naugatuck Valley, and Quinebaug Campus Compact is a national coalition of colleges and universities committed to the public purposes of higher education. College Renaissance Corps (CRCorps) is a new national leadership program rooted in service that empowers community college students in high-demand fields to break barriers and become leaders in the workplace and their communities. Through CRCorps, students have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, build transferable career skills, and serve as examples of how to thrive in the workforce with a community college education. Our program is laser-focused on working with next-generation workforce sectors critical to local and national economies, including logistics, manufacturing, healthcare and tech. About the Position: CRCorps Industry Ambassadors will serve participating community college students and surrounding communities by providing outreach, engagement, support, and resources to enhance their educational and professional development. Ambassadors will collaborate with community college recruiters, faculty, and industry partners to develop and implement engagement strategies and workshops that address the specific needs of the students and prospective students, such as college enrollment, career exploration, job readiness, and workforce networking. They will also establish partnerships with local businesses and industry leaders to share information with students and communities on employment opportunities in high-demand sectors and skills needed to access these economic opportunities. Through their dedication and commitment, CRCorps Industry Ambassadors will empower communities, community college students and workforce industry partners to thrive and succeed in their educational pursuits, career aspirations, and talent needs. Member Duties : Essential functions: -Improve career readiness for peers by providing resources and workshops for successful entry into critical industries. -Coach current high school students interested in pursuing a community college program through regular outreach and engagement events. -Share your experience and educate current and prospective students about the benefits of particular degree pathways. -Increase awareness and engagement with community colleges by highlighting careers in critical industries. -Increase visibility and engagement through strategic social and digital media outreach -Support efforts to recruit and retain individuals in academic programs that are vital to critical industries Non-essential functions include: -Attend workshops, meetings, and events -Leverage community resources. -Participate in training and professional development with fellow AmeriCorps members in the CRCorps cohort.
