Mainframe Lead DeveloperDuration: 6 Months contract to hireClient: Conduent/State of MTMajor Responsibilities:Production support including resolving online and batch programs, JCL, and other operational problems and on-call responsibilitiesResearch and respond to customer change requests and problem issuesUsing COBOL programming language and associated technologies, writes online and batch code, completes programming, and performs testing/debugging of MMIS and supported systemsDevelops and installs programs to support large scale mainframe applicationsAssist in systems analysis and designing solutions to system problems and enhancementsDesign, develop, and test modifications and enhancements to MMIS systemsDesigns, develops documents, tests, and debugs new and existing software systems and/or applications.Work with and mentor team of Mainframe Systems Development SpecialistsParticipates in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.Consults with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.Creates technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.Serves as technical expert on development projects.Creates/maintains documentation for software functionality; project planning; evaluations; budgeting, feedback, and improvements.Provides estimates, budgets, project flow, client updates, and meeting expectations.Manages user requirements; provides timely project updates.Analyzes codes to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed.
