This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong background in traditional surveying, mobile or terrestrial laser scanning on complex, sensitive industrial sites.Position OverviewAs a Data Survey and Scanning Technician at Eye-bot, you’ll be responsible for the safe and accurate operation of reality capture hardware – including Total Stations, GPS units and mobile mapping systems to collect high-quality spatial data for our clients. Your expertise in laser scanning and conventional survey techniques will be central to supporting our growing capabilities and delivering data that drives real-world outcomes.You will be expected to operate in dynamic, field-based environments, capturing critical data for a wide range of applications. A willingness to travel to travel to various field locations is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct conventional and Total Station survey workflows to establish plant grid control networks that support the geolocation and accuracy of reality capture data.Capture highly accurate spatial data using mobile mapping laser scanning (SLAM) LiDAR systems.Utilize Trimble Business Center software to process, QA/AC, and manage field crew data efficiently and within project specifications.Lead and execute ongoing field operations and provide frequent progress reporting to key project stakeholders for Eye-bot and its clients.Ensure optimal capture conditions by evaluating weather, equipment calibrations, and environmental factors before each field operation.Review, back-up, and process captured data to ensure quality and completeness, reporting any issues to the project team.Qualifications & RequirementsCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are an absolute must for coordinating with clients, PMs, and field crews.Industry Experience: Prior experience working in the Oil & Gas industry is required.Surveying Expertise: 5 years proven hands-on experience with survey workflows and processing metrics.Scanning/LiDAR Expertise: Strong experience with Laser Scanning hardware and data collection methodologies.Software Proficiencies: Experience utilizing photogrammetry, point cloud, and Trible Business Center software for processing field data.Physical Requirements: Must be comfortable working in demanding field environments which includes walking for extended periods, navigating uneven terrain, climbing stairs/ladders, and carrying up to 35 lbs on industrial sites.Location: Candidates residing in Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Texas, or Western Louisiana are highly preferred.
