This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that’s constantly evolving.Main ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guestResponsible for proper stock levels in grocery, dairy and frozen departmentsResponsible for interviewing, training, scheduling, performance and productivity of all grocery department team members (including frozen, dairy, grocery and night crew)Responsible for completing and communicating performance evaluations in a timely manner within the departmentManage all dairy/frozen and grocery merchandisingEnsure proper rotation procedures are being enforcedResponsible for ordering all seasonal merchandise and maintaining records of movementCoordinate and maintain all displays and quantity purchasesResponsible for grocery and dairy/frozen ad estimates and purchasingCoordinate with all grocery DSD partners on displays and buy-insResponsible for backroom organization, appearance, safety and stock level, including frozen and dairy vaults, as well as the outside area behind the storeManage individuals and delegates responsibilities as appropriate to motivate and instill excellence in the individuals within the departments in a positive mannerCoordinate cleanliness and maintenance needs with Service Manager. This includes grocery, frozen and dairy equipment and fixtures as well as displays, floors, ceilings and décorResponsible for controlling, safeguarding and monitoring all store assets, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented for control of assetsPerform other duties as requested or required by upper managementKey RequirementsMust be 18 years of age or olderHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of one year of store experienceThe Grocery Manager is required to work an average of 45 hours per week. This will involve multiple opening, closing and day shifts depending on the store needsMinimum of one year store experienceMust maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certificationMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time (up to 6 hours)Must also be able to bend, lift, and perform all other physical aspects of the jobAbility to function as a team member and get along with othersAbility to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude This job description is intended to provide a high-level of general requirements for this position.
