This role supports high-acuity patients and may require charge nurse responsibilities based on unit needs.Position SummaryThe PCU Registered Nurse delivers safe, high-quality, patient-centered care using professional nursing standards and clinical judgment. The RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive patient assessments (clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs)Deliver and evaluate individualized nursing care plansRecognize and respond to patient condition changes and safety risksEnsure safe patient handling and appropriate use of lifts and mobility equipmentProvide patient and family education as appropriateFunction effectively in high-stress clinical situationsDemonstrate leadership by prioritizing care and delegating tasksMay be required to function in a Charge Nurse roleMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationRequired QualificationsGraduate of an accredited School of NursingCurrent New York State RN licenseCurrent RN licensure required at time of submissionPrevious Progressive Care or Critical Care experience preferredAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamRequired CertificationsBLS (Required)ACLS (Required)PALS (Preferred)Basic lethal dysrhythmia certification within 6 months of employmentNIHSS certification within the first 6 months of employmentSkills & CompetenciesStrong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple patients and competing prioritiesEffective leadership and delegation skillsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication abilitiesCreative problem-solving skills and adaptabilityAdditional NotesCompliance with all facility policies and safety standards is mandatoryTravelers are expected to integrate fully into unit workflows and perform at the same level as core staffFor more details reach at dparmar@navitashealth.com.
